Home
of the Giants I know all of you are
anxious to hear the latest news about Home of the Giants. Here is what I can tell
you. Just before Christmas, I traveled to L.A. to do some final looping on the
project, which gave me a chance to see a lot of the scenes and how the film is
coming together. The film looks and sounds
amazing. All of the performances are great, and the story is really gripping,
action packed and great fun. You are gonna love it, and it will be worth the wait.
Wish I could nail down a release date for you, but there is no definite information
right now. As soon as I know anything, you will. So, stay tuned. The
thing about independent film projects is that time and money are a big factor.
It takes years to get a script to the point that it actually gets the attention
of a producer willing to back the film financially. Then they have to get all
the funding in place through various investors before it can be made. Once
you have the money to produce it, you still need the money for post-production
before you have a finished project to shop or market to the studios or film festivals.
Sometimes it may take several layers of investors at different stages of the film
to actually bring it to completion. If a big studio gets behind it, then the film
can finally get the distribution it deserves. If not, they have to go the film
festival route, get some positive recognition, win awards, etc., and hope it will
be bid on and picked up there for distribution by a studio. Unlike
huge studio-backed films with big budgets and the guarantee of distribution and
marketing from the get go that usually hit the theatres within in six months of
being shot, an independent film can take up to two years before it hits the screen.
A lot of things have to happen and fall into place for an independent film to
make it from point A to a theatre screen in your home town. So,
be patient and keep the faith. Its a great film with strong marketability
and wide audience appeal. The performances are top notch, and the storyline is
solid. Rusty wrote a great script. The actors all did their part and, now, its
up to the producers to get it out there and the industry to embrace it and bring
it to you. So, keep the chatter going about Home of the Giants, and you should
see it on the big screen soon. Sympics

the film, and there are always some great teaser pics popping up on the site.
