My
name is Bernard and this is my story about Home of the Giants. During
class I overheard some people talking about a movie being filmed in the gym. I
didn't pay it much attention because I thought that it was something small that
the film department was doing, so I walked right past the gym. I went to work
and my part-timer asked if he could have the day off. He said that he was playing
basketball in a movie at my college. So I told him that he could have the day
off and I would go to the school to see how he was doing. Well,
after work I went to the gym and realised that a major motion picture was being
filmed! It was very exciting to see the actors, and everyone involved in the process
of making this movie. I couldnt make it the second day of filming but I was able
to make it that Sunday. In high school I had always
wanted to become an actor, or at least to do something which involved acting.
I went on theater competitions, I've done dinner theater, and little theater,
but never a major motion picture. My mother had passed
away the month before and I was still saddened. That Sunday I sat in the bleachers
and became part of the action, but what made it a memory of a life time was when
the director asked me if I wanted a line. My heart dropped, but I wasn't afraid.
My high school theater teacher had always told me that if the opportunity came
to take it, and that's exactly what i did. I can't
wait until the movie comes out. Bernard
Duncan has his name in the end crawl credits of Home of the Giants as " Fan"
. His mother would have been proud! |
